Hot News: Holden to Make New Car for Chinese Market

Holden announced earlier today that it had signed an agreement with Shanghai-GM, to assist in the development of two new cars specifically for the Chinese market. Holden will work hand in hand with GM’s Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center (PATAC) to develop the new vehicles which will be based on GM’s world platforms but tailored specifically for the Chinese auto market.

The models and the scope of the work required has not yet been announced, but it is an important milestone for Holden. This technically not Holden’s first move into developing cars for the Chinese market, the Holden Caprice is sold in China as a Buick Park Avenue which replaced the Buick Royaum (A Holden Commadore).
